Pieces could be simple or slightly more complex in design; it is a journey of discovery. Each piece is hand crafted, and this takes time and effort. We may not have the specific materials needed on hand for a specific request and will need to order them in, affecting crafting time. Leather
A variety of leathers are used by Calypso Leatherworks Inc., as discovery of what types are best suited for specific projects and with the sewing machine is still an exciting ongoing journey. For the most part it is vegetable tanned English Bridle, Harness, Water Buffalo, and other hide bearing animals such as goat.
Please be aware that leather is a natural product and can include natural markings such as: branding, blemishes, scarring, stretch marks, etc…or tannery marks. These markings represent a uniqueness to each piece and to the life the animal and should not be thought of as defects. Similar leather products from the same or different vendors can look and feel very different depending on the source of the leather, the tannery process, and the individual hide itself reacting and absorbing the dyes differently. Each piece of leather good created is unique, pieces may be similar but never the same.
